I have had so many pregnancy complications- 7 pregnancies, 2 kids to show for it, these two girls were both born early, I get PIH/Hellp syndrome, I want another baby SO bad... I am getting up there and my kids are growing fast, I would love to have a surrogate, I cannot even imagine your sacrifice, so to hear how people have been is a bit frustrating your right... people do amazing things when it comes to money- or them thinking the other family/friend have money, they were to busy looking at the money portion to realize the miracle and sacrifice you were making for another family. You are so awesome and I will pray for you and your Family, thanks for making a miracle happen for a family who has struggled.Buzybugs pixie.blogspot.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06787314924544133091noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5076640224395253739.post-64641901611830764672012-07-13T20:36:21.748-07:002012-07-13T20:36:21.748-07:00i have loved following your story! thanks for shar...i have loved following your story! thanks for sharingJana Porterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07750824603959825478noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5076640224395253739.post-39511535167363439732012-07-13T20:08:08.890-07:002012-07-13T20:08:08.890-07:00Don't be sorry at all. Whether it be the "jelly belly" or the financial compensation. I loved your thoughts on a family vacation afterwards. That truly does sound so nice. All I've thought about this week is how badly I need a vacation. I feel like I would have earned it, but we just aren't in a position. And I would have been judged on how I was spending my money. That alone has determined some of the decisions my husband and I have made. Glad to know you never ran into that btw.Vanessa Amundsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14972278203921444176noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5076640224395253739.post-21982172729347983072012-07-13T19:27:17.124-07:002012-07-13T19:27:17.124-07:00I can relate to so much here. It still wasn't a huge amount especially like you said, a little at a time. We were able to pay off a few things which was so nice. My 2nd time around, my husband got out of the Navy shortly after I got pregnant, we had a plan that didn't quite pan out. He got a job, but he wasn't making as much and we had to pay more for insurance. I ended up supplementing our income with my surrogacy comp. We were grateful for it, but like you- didn't really have anything to show for it.

I have always put some money aside in the bank for my kids and I've always used the money for some sort of vacation to thank my family for everything they've gone through with me. For the first time around, I was living in CA and we went to Disneyland 6 days after I gave birth. I can totally relate about walking around with a baby belly and not the baby. With my 2nd surrogacy we were able to go to a family reunion out of state.

I didn't have the same response though with others and the "extra money". I can't imagine! How frustrating.

I do hear people make comments of "Wow, that's a lot". I have to say- well not really when you break it down to an hourly wage, because we don't get breaks or time off during our pregnancy. It breaks down to less than minimum wage. Luckily it's not all about the money. The money usually doesn't last long, but there are other ways we are compensated that will last forever.

I also agree that I don't understand why anyone would want a business relationship.

Sorry for the long comment!
